The versus page puts two platforms side by side and shows how often AI assistants cite each one, in citations per 100 answers. You can compare them across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity together or one model at a time, month by month. It answers a practical question: which of two channels carries more weight in AI answers, and with which assistant.

Month by month

Share of answers mentioning each platform, month by month.

Model by model

Share of answers mentioning each platform, for every model.

All 37 platforms by AI model

Citations per 100 answers of each model, over the whole period. One table answers every pair: read two rows side by side, or open the comparison above with any two platforms.

Why compare two platforms?

Few brands can be active everywhere. Collecting reviews on one site rather than another, filming for YouTube or for TikTok, answering questions on Reddit or on Quora: each choice costs time and budget. The comparison shows which of the two platforms AI assistants lean on more often when they recommend businesses.

A ranking gives an order; a head-to-head view gives the size of the gap, its stability over time and its consistency across models. Two platforms that look close in the overall ranking can follow opposite trends, or owe their score to a single assistant. In a GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) plan, that difference tells you where effort is more likely to reach AI answers.

How to read the comparison

  • Whole period: citations per 100 answers over all the months of the period, that is the platform's total citations divided by the total number of answers, times 100. Each month counts in proportion to its number of answers, so a month with many answers weighs more than one with few.
  • Latest month: the figure for the most recent month in which the platform was cited. It shows the current position, with the noise of a single month.
  • Best month: the highest monthly figure. The curve tells you whether it was an isolated spike or part of a rise.
  • Month by month: the two curves side by side, with the number of answers and the citations of each platform under the chart.
  • Model by model: one pair of bars per AI model, each bar being the platform's citations per 100 answers from that model over the whole period. This chart always shows the five models.

The model selector applies to the score and to the monthly curve. A platform that a model never cited is drawn as a flat line at zero: absence is a result, not missing data.

Which comparisons are worth making?

A gap means something between platforms that play the same role for your audience.

  • Reddit vs Quora: two community question and answer sites, to decide where taking part in discussions about your field is more likely to surface in AI answers.
  • Trustpilot vs TripAdvisor or Yelp: review platforms. Trustpilot is strong for online shops and services, TripAdvisor for travel and restaurants, Yelp for local businesses, mainly in North America.
  • YouTube vs TikTok: two video platforms with different formats and audiences.
  • LinkedIn vs Indeed or Glassdoor: professional presence against job listings and employer reviews.
  • Shopify vs WordPress: two website builders, often cited as tools recommended for themselves rather than as sources about other companies.

What the comparison does not show

It compares platforms, not your presence on them. A strong figure for Trustpilot means AI models cite Trustpilot pages, not that they cite yours.

The sample is mostly French and built from questions about businesses, so a platform that weighs more in English-speaking markets can look weaker here than it would for an English-speaking brand. Google reviews cannot be compared, because Google's domains are excluded from the data. Claude and Grok answer fewer questions in this sample, so their bars rest on fewer answers.

How to use the comparison

  1. Choose two platforms that compete for the same role, such as two review sites or two video platforms: a gap between unrelated services says little.
  2. Read the whole-period figure first, then the curve. A lead built on one strong month is weaker than a steady gap over many months.
  3. Switch the model selector to the assistant your customers use most, because the leader can change from one model to another.
  4. Copy the page address to share a comparison: it keeps both platforms and the selected model. Each chart can also be downloaded as an image for a report.
  5. Before investing in a channel, open each platform's own page to see in which language and which industries it is cited.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare Trustpilot with Google reviews?

No. Google's domains, Google Maps included, are removed from the data, because in AI answers they mostly act as infrastructure (search, redirect links) rather than as cited sources. To compare review channels, put Trustpilot against TripAdvisor or Yelp, which are tracked as platforms, and check the industry pages to see which review sites AI models cite in your sector.

Why is the whole-period figure so different from the latest month?

Because they cover different periods. The whole-period figure divides all the citations since the data starts in August 2025 by all the answers over the same months, so a month with more answers weighs more. The latest month reflects only the most recent one. A latest month well above the whole-period figure points to a rising platform; well below, to a decline or a quiet month. The monthly curve shows which.

Why does a platform show zero for one AI model?

Because that model did not cite it in any of the answers analysed. Zero is a measured result, not missing data. Some models attach fewer sources to their answers than others, and Claude and Grok answer fewer questions in this sample, so a zero for them carries less information than a zero for ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity.

Can I compare my own website with a platform such as Reddit?

No. The versus page only covers the large platforms tracked by name, such as YouTube, Reddit, Wikipedia, LinkedIn or Amazon. Other websites appear in the domain rankings of the home page and of the industry pages. To compare your own site with a platform, you need to track AI answers to your own questions over several weeks.

Method and sources

387'471 answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok and Perplexity, from August 2025 to September 2026, to the questions Sorank asks every week to follow its clients' visibility (88% of them in French). A citation is a source domain given in an answer; the rate is the number of citations per 100 answers. Data snapshot of 2 October 2026.
